JUNGLE GYM RECORDS presents "The View From The Big Window," official debut of Chicago's Birdlabs. Drawing influence from early 1970's synthesizer music, contemporary ambient and field recording concepts alike, UDG 0.20 weaves simple connections between future and past. Music for growing plants and the passing of time, "The View From The Big Window" thoughtfully revitalizes an age-old relationship between electronic music and the natural world. Exclusively from JUNGLE GYM.

A STATEMENT FROM THE ARTIST:

All tracks composed on a Dave Smith Prophet ‘08 in various states of trance while looking out the big window in my little studio. Other instruments used include Korg MS-20 Mini, Arturia Microbrute, and Elektron Machinedrum.

Field recordings were made in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, including the sound of both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, some birds and cicadas, my own heartbeat, a lot of crows, a passing train, some good buddies, and a walk through the woods near the airport.
